Students will locate a country specific current event (i.e. the Rohingyas’ right to vote in Myanmar or Armenian and Azerbaijan dispute over the Nagorno-Karabakh region) and create four well-developed social, military, or economic policies to resolve an issue of concern. In addition, you must integrate an argument, thesis, or counterargument from two of the required readings of that week when creating your systemic policy. For instance, in the introductory paragraphs (overview) where you provide a brief overview (four paragraphs) of the type of policy you created and the specific issue you are resolving, you must refer to the argument, thesis, or counterargument from two of the readings of that week (week assignment is due).  For example, you may state “Author A states to build a stable foundation in collapsed nations, political policies must be created first economic policies with international investment and then social policies.” Subsequently, you expound upon that statement and its application to your policy that is outlined below the introductory paragraphs.

This assignment includes the following two sections: You will be expected to create a systemic military, diplomatic, social, or economic policy to resolve a country specific issue which clearly integrates the following sections. What is the country specific issue (current event) that is of concern? Who, What, Where, and Why. Current event can only be used once What type of policy (military, diplomatic, social, or economic policy) should be created to resolve the problem? Use two of the required readings of this week rationalize the policy approach chosen? Use the readings to outline why you believe your policy will be effective. Be specific, detailed, and paraphrase the thesis or argument from the two readings when rationalizing why you chose your specific policy approach.
