Chapter Two Questions:   Responses should be a minimum of two paragraphs per questions (Minimum 6 total).
1. There is a common misunderstanding in American culture that understanding poverty is a simple as “some people just don’t want to work”. Using the labor data presented in the “who are the poor” section, illustrate what research illustrates about poverty and labor status.
2. Describe what research illustrates about the consequences of poverty.  How does poverty effect family, health, education, and housing?
3. What common American belief do researcher point to as responsible for the difference in poverty policy between American and other western democracies? Describe why this belief would hinder anti-poverty programming in America.
