1. You must select a religious practice or belief in which you would like to explore
a. such as: Speaking in Tongues, Nirvana, Reincarnation, etc.
2. You must write general information about the practice or belief.
a. such as: where it was started, founder, relevance to Bible, Koran, 8-Fold Path, etc.
3. You must write about how this practice or belief is different than your typical norm of belief or religion.
a. You may write about any interesting facts that you found out about your religious practice or belief that you chose.
b. You may compare this practice with your own beliefs/practices.
4. You must write about what you learned about this religious practice or belief that you chose.
Or
5. You may also choose to go to a different religion or denomination, outside of your own practice or belief system, and write about how the service was conducted…
a. You can write about the order of the service.
b. How the sermon was delivered.
c. How the preacher was dressed.
d. Difference in worship style.
e. How the congregation reacted to the sermon, etc.
f. Or, anything that you wish to observe.
Requirements for Assignment:
1. The format of the paper must be written (as much as possible) using the 8 steps of The Research Model shown on pages 130-131 of your text.
2. It must be typed and turned in through Blackboard (Bb).
3. You must have the following:
a. A Title/Cover Page.
b. An Abstract.
c. You must have a Body of at least 5 full pages, and no more than 7 pages.
d. You must have a Citations Page in APA formatting; you must cite at least one to two sources from a published article, book, film, etc.
• You may not use Wikipedia as a source.
• Purdue O.W.L. has an excellent website on citing in APA style.
4. The paper must include: 1 inch margins, 12-point Times New Roman font, and be double spaced.
5. Paper must be free of grammatical errors as well.
