Instructions for Writing the Lab Report
Begin your lab report by listing Piaget’s stages of development and the approximate ages at
which children pass through them.
Next, write an essay in which you explain the cognitive concept that was highlighted in each
segment of the video. Describe how children at each of the first three stages struggled with a
cognitive task related to the cognitive concept you have chosen to discuss. Based upon what you
have learned, make up another example of tasks that you think a child in each of the first three
stages might also have trouble with. Explain why you think that the tasks you have proposed
would be challenging for a child of that age.
