• A “formal proposal” including the analysis and design of your business’ IT infrastructure.
• Your group must include a recorded presentation that is no longer than 15 minutes.
• 7-10 slides presentation, which does not count towards your 24-page limit.
• Projects will be in PDF format. Presentation slides should be included in the Project Proposal
as an appendix.
• Only one member of your group will submit the proposal to Turnitin and the presentation to
Blackboard.
• The proposal should be a maximum of 24 pages, not including title page, table of contents,
and references. Anything over 24 pages will not be graded.
• The proposal should address the following for the client in a logical order: Hardware, software,
network diagram, operating systems, security requirements, division of networks, peripheral
devices, data redundancy. *These are the minimum things you should include. Please note
covering the minimum will receive the minimum grade.
• Recommended sections: Intro/Executive Summary, Network Requirements, Operating
System/Software Requirements, Hardware Requirements (not limited to just computers),
Critical Analysis of your project, Ballpark budget, etc.
• For any recommendations, you should include in-text citations linked to your references page.
If you are recommending a specific piece of equipment or set-up you need to explain why that
is the best set up for your client. If you are quoting price references are needed.
• The end of your proposal must have a critical analysis of what you have designed for the client
and how your interaction went. How do you feel about the system you designed (good, bad,
indifferent)? What could you have done better/differently? What would you do differently in
the future?
• Late assignments will receive a 10-point deduction per hour they are late.
• 12-point font, Arial, in APA formatting.
• Your report should be logically organized, references cited in-text with a full reference list at
the end of your proposal.
• Your network diagram should include common symbol designations for equipment, network
devices, etc.
