Planning a social media campaign can seem like a herculean undertaking. The best way way to avoid becoming paralyzed by the enormity of a task is to break it into smaller steps and get started. You will work on sections of the Social Media Marketing Plan (SMMP) that correspond to the Unit readings.

 Part 1 is initially submitted at the end of Unit 1 for approval by your professor.
 Parts 1-3 are submitted for grading at the end of Unit 3.
 Parts 4-6 are submitted for grading at the end of Unit 6.
 The completed SMMP will be due end-of-day Thursday in Unit 8, and include all parts.

Check in with your instructor if you should need clarification at any point during the process. Be sure to incorporate all feedback from prior submissions into the final submission.

PART ONE:

Choose a nonprofit or a for-profit company to research for your Social Media Marketing Plan assignment. You can choose a real company that you are familiar with (current or former employer) or it can be a start-up of your own imagining.  The hypothetical budget must be at least $400,000. In your initial paper, include the name of the company, a brief overview, social media presence, competitive analysis sections of your plan.

PART TWO:

Write the goals and strategy and tuning sections of your Social Media Marketing Plan. Be sure to define any marketing principles or concepts that are addressed, and to provide citations of credible sources where appropriate.

PART THREE:

Write the target market section for your Social Media Marketing Plan.

Begin the Implementation section, (including content development and assignments) section of your Social Media Marketing Plan. You will be working on this during Units 4, 5, and 6.

PART FIVE:
