The paper evaluates developments and enhancements in comparative education research, involving references to methodological models that might inform the focus and design of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment, and Reporting Authority’s (ACARA) research together with the global comparison. As a section of the enhancement of the Australian Curriculum, ACARA commenced a project of benchmarking the final Mathematics, English, and Science curricula.
