Create a Work Breakdown Structure for your Contracts Management System project
Referring to project topic document, you will create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for your project(Contracts Management System). To create a WBS, you must first succinctly define the project’s scope including deliverables and technical requirements. Create and include the elements below in the order listed, as these documents will be important as you create a WBS.
• From the project topic document, craft a project scope for your project. Include the following elements in the Scope Statement (this should be no more than two (2) pages:
o Name of your Project (from your Module 1 submission)
o Dates of Project (in month, day, year or mm/dd/yyyy format)
o Budget for project (use a $ to denote all monetary values in your project)
o Project objective (what your project will accomplish – briefly stated)
o Deliverables (measurable outputs from your project that occur over the life of the project)
o Milestones (significant events in your project)
o Technical Requirements (specific to your project)
o Limits and Exclusions (this is standard in all projects and they include limits to the Contracts Management Systems project scope such as “fitness for use” statements)
o Review and agreement with customer (this is completed in a meeting and ends with all parties signing the document if they agree to its contents)
• Using the elements of the Project Scope Statement, create a WBS. This can be a simple hierarchical diagram created using the shapes in Microsoft Word, the shapes in Microsoft Visio (free in DreamSpark/MSDNAA), or using Microsoft Project. As this is a professional submission, free-hand drawings are not permitted.
Write a paper in Word format for your Project Scope Statement. Include a Work Breakdown Structure. Combine both documents into a single document with the Scope Statement first and the Work Breakdown Structure immediately after it on a new page spanning as many pages as necessary. Use the American Psychological Association (APA) style (6th edition) for writing your assignment.
