For your final assignment in this course (Assignment 5) you will be developing a report where you can help educate people about a specific United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG). You will briefly describe the goal, help people understand why that goal is important (its relevance/impact) and identify some opportunities for people to get involved to support progress towards the goal.
1. Review the UNSDGs and identify one that is the most meaningful to you and that you’d like to focus your research on this semester: https://www.un.org/
2. Within each United Nations Sustainable Development Goal listed, there is a tab titled “Targets and Indicators” – select one specific Target that you will focus on.
3. Answer the following questions – in a proposal (memo format)
Which of the UNSDGs are you going to select (choose one) to focus on this semester, and more specifically which Target?
Why do you feel this UNSDG, and Target are of importance? Provide evidence; not just opinion (citations required)
How are you personally impacted by this United Nations Sustainable Development Goal and Target?
Explain that a final recommendations report will be submitted at the end of the term. Remember, you will be using this format to persuade people you know to pay attention and get involved.
4. At the end, include a request for approval from your instructor to move forward with your proposed topic and approach.
