Movie Analysis Project
The Movie Analysis Project is the culmination of each chapter’s study. Learning about communication theory requires application and discussion. In order to accomplish this goal, you will read the text that explains the theories, complete exercises that demonstrate the theories, and search for examples of the theories in the relationships of characters in assigned films.
1) Choose a favorite chapter and WATCH ONE of the recommended movies (Movie Options) or a movie of your choice (with instructor approval)
2) FIND EXAMPLES in the movie of at least 6 concepts from the chapter you have chosen. Choose concepts that you learned for the first time when reading this chapter. Challenge yourself! Note: chapter concepts are generally printed in bold text. If you choose the chapter on emotion, please do not use any of the primary emotions as your chosen concepts.
3) WRITE a paper in which you indicate and define (in your own words) the key concepts you have chosen. Then clearly describe the examples you found in the movie that illustrate each chosen concept. Assume that your reader has never read the textbook nor seen the movie. In other words, you must be very explicit and detailed in both your definitions and your examples.
4)SUBMIT to either Movie Analysis You must create this paper in your own document and then upload it to the dropbox. See Rubric for my expectations.
YOUR PAPER MUST BE AT LEAST 800 WORDS. Please grammar and spell-check before submitting your paper. NOTE: Your paper will be scanned by a program called Turnitin to check for originality. Plagiarism is a serious offense that will result in an F.
