Need for corporate social responsibility CSR in organizations

The topic of my research is the need for corporate social responsibility (CSR) in organizations. The research focuses on Wal-Mart Inc.
The following are the research questions that will guide my study

  1. What is the impact of corporate social responsibility activities on the image, reputation and competitive advantages of a business?
  2. Does participation in corporate social responsibility activities impact on the performance of a business?
  3. What strategies should a business utilize to exploit the benefits of corporate social responsibility?

The study aims at attaining the following objectives

  1. To determine the impacts of CSR on the image, reputation and competitive advantages of a business.
  2. To investigate whether the participation of a business in CSR activities impacts on its performance
  3. To recommend strategies that businesses should utilize to ensure they exploit the benefits of corporate social responsibility.
    The context of my study is that it focuses on an organization. The focus is necessary as it facilitates the easier collection of data.
    The data for the study will be collected using self-administered questionnaires. The questionnaires will contain open-ended questions. The data collection methods selected as it eliminates researcher bias as the respondent will answer the questions independently and at their
    convenience.
    The respondents will also have adequate time and flexibility to offer conclusive answers as they are not limited to predetermined sets of responses.
    The study sample will be drawn from the management staff of Wal-Mart Inc that will be selected through simple random sampling. Through the contacts at the retailer, the names of the managerial staff will be provided where a representative sample of 50 employees will be picked.
