The BE framework is made up of seven building blocks of excellence. Leadership, Planning, Information, People, Processes, Customers and Results.

1. Based on the relevant literature, critically review the critical success factor (CFSs) for TQM implementation and comment on the
similarities / differences between the CSFs of TQM and the building blocks of the BE of the company chosen.
2. Identify a company which has achieved the SQC or SQS level in either a manufacturing or service industry. Critically assess the
strategies and the tools and techniques that they use to achieve the SQC or SQA level. Comment on the effectiveness of applying the CSFs of the TQM to achieve SQC or SQA. The company information could be obtained from the company management briefing, interviews and / or company visit.
