Students should develop a branding slogan for the city and highlight unique cuisine options that tourists can patronize while visiting. Student proposals should explain how and why their proposed branding slogan represents the city, connect distinct eating experiences, and draw comparisons to the cities explored by Marci Cohen Ferris in “A Journey Back in Time: Food and Tourism in the New South.”
- Your assessment should be a minimum of 800 words.
- Select one of the cities listed below.
- Develop an original slogan that promotes your selected city’s local food culture and explain why tourists would want to visit.
- Research via the web and analyze 3 distinct food experiences (i.e. restaurant, brewery, food festival) that collectively exemplify the city’s local food culture and anticipated interest from tourists.
- Look to promotional media produced by each food experience.
- Articulate how the each experience relate to your slogan.
- Demonstrate and explain comparisons to Marci Cohen Ferris’ examination of food tourism in “A Journey Back in Time: Food and Tourism in the New South.”
