The purpose of this assignment is to know how to write a clear, concise, and coherent business letter in a formal tone with professional style. This assignment will also assist in learning how to write a direct letter in a brief manner. Word choice and quality comes into play when writing a business letter because you will need to learn to select the best words and ideas to quickly get your point across.
For the adjustment letter, you will be given a claim letter from a peer. In the adjustment letter, you will be acting as the company and will need to resolve the issue addressed in the claim letter. In the adjustment letter, you will express regret for the problem, state what will be done to remedy the problem, tell when the results should be expected, show appreciation to the customer, and provide contact information. Your letter should be formatted as a business letter using formal company letterhead. (This means that you will design the fictional letterhead and place it correctly on the letter). Again, your letter should be no longer than one-page in length.
