Write a one-two page research paper about police use of force. This is a topic police officers discuss all the time. We are constantly discussing this topic in annual training and daily briefings. I want you to get used to doing research and being specific when discussing uses of force by police. Click on this link and select an officer-involved shooting to discuss:

Select one of the officer-involved shootings and compare it to the 3-prong test in Graham vs Connor. Was the use of force lawful? What was the District Attorney’s decision with regard to prosecuting the officer? Explain the circumstances behind the case you selected and explain why the shooting was considered lawful. Also, look up Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 200.120 and compare the officer’s use of deadly force to Nevada’s justifiable homicide law.
