write a satirical proposal to address a problem that you believe needs to be solved
Creating Satire with a ‘Modest’ Proposal Keeping in line with Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal,” you will write a satirical proposal to address a problem that you believe needs to be solved. Problems may include a school policy you would like to see changed, a political policy you do not agree with, or a daily habit you hope people would adopt or reject. After creating a written version of the proposal, you will prepare a 2-3 minute dynamic presentation of your proposal.
Your proposal should:
- Introduce the problem you believe needs to be addressed.
- Present your proposed solution.
- Enumerate all the reasons your proposal makes sense.
- Include any additional benefits your proposal might bring.
- Acknowledge objections.
- How can you counter them?
- Cite false yet convincing evidence, quotes or statistics confidently. (everything paragraph form)
- Close with either ″reasonable″ solutions that could “obviously not” be taken, a call to action or next steps.
