You will write a paper suitable for publication as a short magazine essay, a newspaper op-ed piece or a letter to the editor. It should express a definite point of view and an argument—it should aim to persuade readers on some issue related to the definition, classification and/or education of people with exceptionalities. Whether or not you actually submit the article for publication is entirely up to you, but you must write it with a specific publication in mind (please state the publication or address it to that specific publication).
This writing assignment should be short enough so that your reader will finish reading it, and long enough to present your argument—typically about 2-3 pages (12 sized font, line double-spaced). Additional note: This can be any issue with any ONE kind of disability or exceptionality. It can be something you have just read in the textbook, or something you're interested in exploring further. You cannot use this same assignment for the final paper, and this content must not be something already posted in the Discussion Forum. Although this "letter" would include your opinion and reflection, make it convincing by including a couple of references, such as, the % of people in the U.S. who are affected (found in research or reliable sources), or the funding available (Remember to cite the sources!) — by researching at least one website or use at least one latest research article on this "issue" you plan to discuss about and to share with the readers of this publication
